SLF Legal I Thailand Business Update

Two significant investment developments in Thailand have caught our attention this week, both with implications for business owners and investors watching the Kingdom's growth sectors.

SET-listed President Bakery, producer of the Farmhouse brand, has announced plans to invest approximately 5 billion baht over three years. Managing Director Apisate Thammanomai confirmed that 2 billion baht will go toward a new production facility at its Lat Krabang plant, with another 2 billion baht allocated for a new flour mill, both targeted for completion in 2028. The increased flour mill budget reflects the inclusion of more advanced machinery. The remaining budget will support upgrades to the company's vehicle fleet, including a target of 100 new electric vehicles per year. Mr Apisate noted that logistics and packaging costs remain 10 to 20 percent higher than pre-conflict levels despite recent declines in diesel prices, and expressed cautious optimism about a gradual recovery in consumer spending in the second half of the year.

In a separate development, Saha Pathana Inter-Holding, Tokyu Corporation of Japan, and Saha Tokyu Corporation have signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly explore development feasibility in Si Racha, Chon Buri. The three-year feasibility study will cover a 700 rai landholding owned by the Saha Group and will look at development strategies spanning 10 to 20 years. Potential projects under consideration include commercial, office, residential, international school, and convention hall facilities. SPI President Vorayos Thongtan described Si Racha as a key economic centre within the Eastern Economic Corridor. Tokyu's Yoshinori Ogata confirmed that investment value has not yet been determined.

For foreign investors and business owners, long-term master-planned developments in EEC zones often create downstream opportunities across multiple sectors, including property, hospitality, and professional services.

If you are considering investment, business establishment, or property acquisition in Thailand, understanding the legal framework around foreign ownership, land use, and corporate structuring is essential before committing capital.
